what it does: it automatically selects the "Web" option.

If tomorrow they change/remover the attribute one could simply hide it using uBlockOrigin. 

How to prevent web admin session expiration on routers (Huawei at least)

Note: this post is just a  public draft.

1)  open Firefox

2) visit your router's administration web page. 

3) Open debugger. 

4) Log in

5) on the Network tab, right click on the first entry (usually index.php or whatever) and under "Copy" select "Copy as cURL"

6) open konsole or whatever terminal you preffer

7) write watch -n 30 and a double quote, then paste and add -k -o /dev/null and close the double quotes

8) hit enter to run watch and go back to your browser.

leave your web admin tab open, otherwise you will have to repeat all the steps.

this trick might be useful on every site that makes your session expire via ajax calls.

Installing Waterfox addons (the "hard" way)

Apparently the guys at Mozilla have found/left a hole somewhere on Waterfox browsers engine (since its also from Mozilla but modified) to reveal the real user agent to websites.

(Note to self: check where is it and how to counter it)

Specific case is addons.mozilla.org: even if you have an user agent spoofer and you choose whatever Firefox version, it will not let download the addon you want.

So the trick is to have an old copy of firefox installed and use it to open the addon page you want. Then simply copy the link to install it, paste into Waterfox and remove the last part of the url so it ends with the xpi extension.

When I do things like this I want to separate updated content from what is not.

Autofill forms for Chromium and Firefox

Why/when do you need it:

• because you use the same web page from time to time and you need to fill a form with the same data (ie: user/pass)
• related to the above, once configured with a hotkey, logging in a site in is just a second
• security is not an issue
• a natural complement to Lazarus addon for Firefox
• if you are like me, who sticks to Firefox 40-48 because many addons does not work on newer versions, you might want to use Chromium for specific web pages

compared with the Addon for Firefox (version 1.1.8), Chromium addon is horrible beyond belief. I feel like some software developers are treating users as if they were morons incapable of thinking for themselves so they try to spoon-feed them with fancy dialogs and buttons limiting what they can and cannot do. Proof of that is the first item on the Features list: "Easy configuration with a simple interface"

Lazarus: after typing 10 times the same form, you end up installing this.  Link

Skip Feedsportal: some RSS Feeds create a special formated url to keep a track of the sites you visit. If you don't want that, this Addon is for you. Link

A bit more anonymous way for Youtube browsing

If you use Google productos like blogger or gmail, you will notice that entering in Youtube automatically use your google credentials on the site. Which means all videos you search and browse are registered in your Google Account.

If you want to avoid that, you need Firefox and Cookie Monster. Once installed you will have a new Icon with the letters CM, go to youtube, click on the icon and select Cookie Access (site level) and select Reject Cookies. You will notice that even if you use gmail or blogger or even google it wont log you out from those sites.
